Christ Church, Braintree, Norfolk Co., Province of Massachusetts Bay, New England

The Church of England at Braintree was fully organized in 1704, but construction of the church edifice was not completed until 1728 and the first service in the church was held on Easter Monday of that year. It is said to be the oldest Episcopal church in Massachusetts, and except for Trinity Church in Newport, RI, the oldest in all of New England. In 1744 a chime of bells, the first in America, was given to them.
