Circa 1885, William Henry Warnock emmigrated from Canada. He came to USA in 1856 and/or 1883 or 1888 as gave these years on different census returns - (1920 - 1856; 1900 - 1883; 1910 - 1888). But since he appears with his wife in the 1881 census for New Brunswick, the assumption is being made that it was around 1885.3,4,5

William and Jane Warnock appeared on the 1871 Census of New Brunswick at Albert Ward, St. John Co., New Brunswick, Canada, enumerated 1871. 29 year old William was born in Nova Scotia; 24 year old Jane in New Brunswick; their 4 year old daughter Mary E. was born in Nova Scotia as was her 10 month old brother William W. William's occupation is listed as Mariner. The family's religion is recorded as Wesleyan Methodist. The family's Origin (Nationality) is listed as Irish. Their children Mary and William were listed as living with them.6
He and Jane Warnock appeared on the 1881 Census of Canada at Hillsborough, Albert Co., New Brunswick, enumerated after February 1881. William was born in Nova Scotia, Jane in New Brunswick; all of their children were born in New Brunswick, except their eldest daughter, Mary E. who was born in Nova Scotia. William's occupation is listed as Cabinet Maker. The family's religion is recorded as Wesleyan Methodist. The family's Origin (Nationality) is listed as Irish. Their children Mary E. Warnock, Capitola Warnock, W F Warnock, David Franklin Warnock and Helena Jane Warnock were listed as living with them.5
William and Jane Warnock appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Charlestown, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, at 13 Mystic St., enumerated 6 June 1900. 59 year old William was born in Nova Scotia, his father was born in Ireland, his mother in Canada; 52 year old Jane was born in New Brunswick, her father in Canada and her mother in Ireland. William stated that he had immigrated to the States in 1883; Jane and their sons in 1889; William had not become a naturalized citizen by the time of this census. Their children David and John were listed as living with them, William's occupation is listed as Carpenter, son David was a house painter and son John was a day laborer.7
William and Jane Warnock appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Everett, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, at 21 Corey St., enumerated 28 April 1910. Chesley (36 years old) and Helena (30 years) are living with Helena's parents, William H. (69 years) and Jane (63 years) Warnock. William and Jane had been married for 45 years; Helena and Chesley for 10years. William is shown as the house owner, Chesley as a renter. The families are enumerated at the same house number but each with their own family number.
     Both men's occupation is shown as house carpenter... William as an employer, Chesley works for wages (for his father-in-law?). Both were employed at the date of the census, but Chesley is shown to have been out of work for 13 weeks during 1909.
     All of the adults were born in Canada as were all of their parents, except Jane's mother had been born in Scotland. William and Jane, Chesley and Helena all immigrated in 1888... the men became naturalized citizens, their wives became citizens based on their husbands' naturalization.
     Jane had given birth to 7 children of whom 6 were living at the time of the census; Helena had given birth to 4 children, all of whom were living. Helena's two oldest daughters, Helena and Mildred attended school; her boys Chesley and Allan were still too young.3
He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Everett, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, at 21 Corey St., enumerated 5 January 1920. William was an 80 year old widower living in his own home (with a mortgage). He was a self-employed carpenter working in the contracting business. He stated that he immigrated to the States in 1856 and become a naturalized citizen in 1896. Both his mother and father were born in Ireland.8
