Job Tyler was named an heir in the will of Lawrence Tyler dated 20 January 1663, in Cranbrook, Kent, England. According to the terms of his father's will Job, "who is now in New England", was to receive a bequest of £40 when he, Job, "shall make, seal and send over a sufficient release of all his right, interest and title he or his heirs may have in a piece of land that I lately purchsed of Thomas Everiss of Staplehurst, wherein I joined him as purchasor with myself."9
