This date for their marriage, 28 Mar 1734, is taken from the Preston Vital Records vol. 1, pg. 96, as recorded by the Lucius Barnes Barbour Collection, 1928.
     To complicate the issue other genealogies give earlier dates - 1731. A review of the original entry in the Preston Records clarifies the 1734 date and is still consistent with the year of birth for their eldest daughter, Ruth.7,8,9
