Church AffiliationFrom 1720 to December 1759,Rev. Stephen Steele and Ruth Steele were members of the Congregational Church in Tolland, Tolland Co., Connecticut Colony, New England. Rev. Stephen graduated from Yale in 1721 and two years later became the first settled minister in Tolland. He was ordained in June 1723 and served until the year before his death. He initially received a salary of £75 per year.5
