According to this source, rather than being the son of Edward Parker as indicated in an earlier volume of the same source, John was the son of John who moved to New Haven, and the grandson of the immigrant William Parker of Hartford and Saybrook, Connecticut. Further research is required to determine who is this John Parker's father.6,7

Circa 1670, John was among the first settlers of Wallingford, New Haven Co., Connecticut Colony, New England. He located his home in the district called Parkers' Farms, about two miles west of the borough. As an early planter in the town he was active in all the town affairs and business.12,13
