Birth - Marriage - Death

ChildJoseph Ohlhaüser was born circa 1757, in Spechbach, Margraviate of Baden, Holy Roman Empire. This is the presumed place of his birth as there is in Spechbach the house occupied to this day - November 2015 - by an Ohlheiser descendant. The mother of the current resident has said that the house has been continuously occupied and modified by Ohlheisers since it was built between 1648 (the end of the Thirty Years' War) and 1700.1,2,3
GroomHe married Anna Maria Hönig on 20 July 1783 in St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church, Spechbach, Margraviate of Baden, Holy Roman Empire. The Marriage Registry clearly show wife's name as Maria Anna Honig; Witnessed by Georg Martin of Spechbach, where they reside.4,5,6,2
DeceasedHe died on 23 December 1830 in Waldhilsbach, Grand Duchy of Baden. The church record indicates Joseph's widow was Anna Maria Hönig.7
InterredHe was buried in Waldhilsbach, Grand Duchy of Baden. The entry for Joseph's death and burial made in the records of the Evangelische Kirche Waldhilsbach (Lutheran Church, Waldhilsbach) shows the parish as Spechbach.7

Church

ReligionJoseph Ohlhaüser was apparently religious... he seems to have availed himself of the services of both the Roman Catholic and the Lutheran Churches as he was married (and some of his children were baptised) in St. Martin's R.C. Church in Spechbach, but his death and burial were recorded in the book of the Lutheran church in Waldhilsbach.8,1
