Occupation

Roger Mowry was licensed to keep a house of entertainment. His was the first establishment of its kind in Providence. He was instructed to: "Sett out a convenient signe at ye most perspicuous place of ye saide house thereby to give notice to strangers that it is a house of entertainment."1
