Whear as Jacob Malin of the County of Chester son of Randle Malin and said Susannah Jon's daughter of David Jon's of County aforesaid having declared their intentions of marriage with each other in our monthly meeting of the People called Quakers belonging to Chester Monthly Meeting held at Springfield and Middletown whose proceedings theare in after inquiry made of both parties and consent of friends and relations confirming being clear from all others mean aproved of by said meeting viz---- Now these are therefore to certify all whome it might concern that for full accomplisting most of their intentions this said 17 day of 10 month in year 1710. The said Jacob Malin and Susannah Jon's did appear in Publick assembly of the said People and others at the Publick Meeting house of Goshen in County afore said whence the said Jacob Malin taking said Susannah Jon's by the hand sid solemnly declare as followeth viz--- Friends in the presents of God and this Assembly I take this my Friend Susannah Jon's to wife promising by the Lords' assistance to be unto her, a loving and faithfull huaband husband until it pleases God by death to separate us---And then and there said Assembly said Susannah Jon's did Declare as followeth viz friends in present of God and this Assembley I take this my Friend Jacob Melin to be my husband promising with God assistance to be a faithful and loving wife until it pleases God by death to separate or words to the same effect---And as a further confirmation thereof the said Jacob Malin and Susannah Jon's did then and there to those Presents subscribe their names as Husband and wife and whose names are hereunto subscribed being Present at the Solemnizing of their said marriage and Subscription in the manner aforesaid as Witnesses thereunto have also to the Presents Subscribed our names the day and year above written.

Some Life Events of Interest

"On April 26, 1727 Randal signed a deed to his son Jacob "for love & affection" granting him 100 acres on Ridley Creek in Upper Providence and Middletown to have immediately after the decease of Randal. Presumably this is the land on which Jacob was already living. Jacob's will (yeoman of Upper Providence), signed November 3, 1726/7 [sic], proved May 30, 1727, to wife Susanna the use and profits of his 150 acre plantation during widowhood for the support and maintenance of (unnamed) children. Executors Susanna and his brother Isaac Malin; witnessed by his father Randal Malin and Henry MILLER. Jacob and Susanna had 6 children, all born in Upper Providence Township."2

Jacob Malin prepared a will dated 3 January 1727. I Jacob Malin of Upper Providence Township in the County of Chester and Province of Pennsilvania yeoman, being weak in Body but A Sound of mind and memory do hereby make this my last will & Testament in manner and form folowing.
Principally and first of All I recomend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it: and my Body to be Buried in A Cristian Like manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as to such worldly Estate as it hath pleased the Lord to Bless me with: I give & Bequeth in maner & form folowing
Item I give and Beqaueth unto my Loving wife Susanna Malin my Sorriel mare, A feather bed, and furniture thereunto Belonging : And alsoe the use & Profits of All the Plantation & houses toward the soport of her selfe and Children over and above A third part of All my Estate real and Personall And further my will is that the Belongings to my wife may be taken out of my Personall Estate : Note that the privliges granted my wife on the Plantation is only during her widdowhood And if so be that the soport Aforesaid be not sofficent : My will is that this Hundred & fifty acres I am now setted on shall be Disposed of for their further soport and maintanance : And the Remainder of my Estate with the overplus of the beformentioned to be disposed off Amongst my Children at the discression of my Executors :
And I do hereby ordain, Constitute and Appoint my Loving wife Susanna Malin & my loving Brother Isaac Malin to be my Lawful Executors to see this my will Performed : as alsoe Revoking and Disanulling all other & former wills by me heretofore made ratifying & Confirming this & no other to be my last will & testament as witness my hand this third day of 11 month caled Jan1726/7.
