ChildWilliam Dungan was born circa 1606, in Celbridge, County Kildare, Leinster, Ireland. One book states he is son of Thomas Dungan, gent., of Lincoln's Inn, and nephew of Sir Walter Dungan, Bart., of Castletown, Kildrought, and Possecktown, co. Kildare, Ireland, ancestors of the earls of Limerick and of royal descent. An article by Thomas P. Dungan, TG4 (1983):187-202 completely dissociates William Dungan from Judge Thomas Dungan of Lincoln's Inn.1
