"[…] at Chester, on the 18th of November [1845], Mr. John Corkum, brother of the above, in the 54th year of his age. Mr. C. professed religion in early life. He bore his protracted and exceedingly painful illness, with christian fortitude and resignation, expressing a willingness to suffer – to live or to die, so that his God might be glorified. Mr. C. has left a widow and 8 children, to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and parent." (Christian Messenger, 26 Dec. 1845.)2
