Immigrant Ancestor

Circa 1860, Owen Cooney and Bridget Cooney arrived in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. This date is estimated as the family was included in the 1865 cenus in Mansfield, Bristol Co., MA. Boston was probably his family's port of entry, but it is possible, though less likely, they came through New York, or even Canada; Owen was the sponsor for a number of baptisms and marriages in the parish of Kinsale, Cork, up to 21 September 1847. He apparently does not appear in the parish records after that date.6,7
