John Cleverly was mentioned in the will of Robert Stevens dated 1 July 1682 in Braintree, Norfolk Co., Province of Massachusetts Bay, New England, "...my son (son-in-law) John Cleaverly (sic) [to be] overseer of my estate;".
     The after-death inventory of his estate taken in December 1682 totalled £97 10s. 6d; it included real estate valued at £71 and "a sword" valued at 5s.7
